The Longwood Village Group hold a Coffee Morning at the Longwood Mechanics Hall from 10.00 am till 12 noon on the first Saturday of every month so come along and meet up with your old friends or come along and make some new ones.
The Coffee Mornings often have a theme appropriate to the time of year or some National or International event. There is always a raffle and a cake stall. The Library is always open, where we sell second hand books for 50p each, there is always a good selection of childrens' books, paperback novels and reference books on a wide variety of subjects we also sell second hand Jigsaws and DVD,s.
The library also contains two computers with access to the internet and printing facilities, these are available for use by members of Longwood Village Group free of charge.
If you have any Paper back books, jigsaws or DVDs that you no longer require we are always grateful for any donations to help us raise funds to support our many community projects.
The local councillors are usually in attendance at these coffee mornings so if you have any issues you would like to bring to their attention you are more than welcome to attend.
The Christmas Coffee Morning on the first Saturday in December is always special, we have carol singing led by the St Marks' junior players and the children can visit Father Christmas in his fantastic Grotto. There are a selection of stalls selling Christmas cards and gifts suitable for all the family.
All the money that is raised at the Coffee Mornings is used to further improve the facilities of the Mechanics Hall or to improve the environment in Longwood and the surrounding areas so as to enhance the quality of life and experience of local residents.
We are having a mammoth sale of books, jigsaws DVDs and CDs.
Any four items for £1.00, come and get some bargains!
If you have any books, DVDs or CDs that you no longer require and you would like to donate them to Longwood Village Group to help with our fund raising, then just bring them along on the day.
We are also having a final sale of all the crafting items that we have left, everything must go.....no sensible offer refused.
If you missed the History exhibition in October 2018 or you felt you did not have sufficient time to read all the boards, here is a second opportunity.
There will still be all the usual attractions with tea, coffee and biscuits and cakes on sale.
We will be staying open till 2.00pm instead of the usual 12 noon finish.
The library will be open and the Ward Councillors will be present.
We are also thinking of holding a small art exhibition, if you would like to exhibit some of your paintings or photographs contact Ray and Christine Collier on 01484 656389
